Ramakrishna Hospital celebrates World Prematurity Day

Advanced NICUs can provide excellent outcomes to even the smallest preterm babies - Experts underline on World Prematurity Day Sri Ramakrishna Hospital celebrated the World Prematurity Day with a get together with families of preterm babies who successfully received the needed care from the NICU. Dr Siddartha Buddhavarapu, Neonatologist said this celebration is meant to serve as an inspiration for the later generations of preterm baby families and will also motivate NICU staff to constantly push boundaries to improve quality of care for sick babies. 
There is a need to spread awareness that with good NICU care the outcomes of even the smallest preterm babies are excellent. 
The NICU at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital is a leading tertiary care referral center for neonates in the city and neighbouring districts. 
The presence of a human milk bank in the hospital has helped in uninterrupted breastmilk supply to our most preterm and sick neonates.Dr Suja Mariam, Neonatologist speaking about future plans said that a Developmental Follow up Clinic will be launched shortly.
