Rotary arranges free cardiac surgery camp

Rotary Club  of Erode Thindal, arranged a  free cardiac surgery camp at Kalingarayan Hospital, Erode on Sunday.  The club president Booma Mahendravarman who presided, said this is the third year in a row that 92 associations affiliated with Rotary International District 3203 have helped to conduct the camp. In the last 2 years, 68 patients got free surgery, including 3 heart transplantation surgeries.


The surgery was performed in the MGM Hospital, Chennai.  Today, around 110 persons including 47 children came for treatment for their heart ailments. Surgeries would be arranged for needy children, suffering with congenital heart diseases, in the PSG and MGM hospitals free of cost ranging upto Rs 1 lakh. The club would also bear expenses for follow up treatment for them. 

The PM and CM health insurance benefits would also be arranged for the eligible persons as nearly 1 per cent of children suffer congenital heart diseases in the nation. So,  it is best to diagnose and treat children at first.

The club would also provide free medical treatment for elders with medicines.  Agni Steels MD  K Thangavelu, Rotary District Governor K  Shanmugasundaram, executives Parimala Devi,  Venkata Subramaniam, Vijayachandran,  Dhanasekar, Sakthivel, Dr Prabhu Venkatesh, Dr Ranganathan, Karthikeyan, Raviselva, Premkumar, Vellalar Engineering College Rotaract Club members and many others were present.
