Ryots seek MSP for all farm goods

A seminar on minimum support prices for agricultural products was held in Erode on Saturday under the auspices of the United Farmers Front.
In it, DMK deputy general secretary and former Union Minister Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan said that the farmers had fought against the Centre's introduction of a law that would deprive them of MSP. In the stir, many farmers lost their lives.  As a result, the new laws were repealed.

When the cost of production, transportation, and wages for agriculture are calculated for each product, most products are sold at a loss. If the MSP is determined by including a certain percentage from the cost of production, all produ

cts are available to the public at affordable prices. Farmers are also unlikely to face losses.
P. Kasiyannan, Chairman, Coordinating Committee of All Agricultural Associations, Erode District, presided over the function. Coordinator AM Munuswamy said: By the three agricultural laws brought by the Centre, the minimum support price for the products will be gone. The peasants besieged Delhi and fought for more than a year to get it back.He said the law against the demand for MSP  was withdrawn due to the struggle. CM Tulasimani, State Vice President, Tamil Nadu Farmers' Association welcomed the gathering.
Representatives of various agricultural organizations including Ponnayan, Subbu, Prof. Balasubramanian,
VP Gunasekaran, S. Periyasamy and Ramasamy participated in the function.
