"Salem District Releases Draft Voter List with 28.9 Lakh Voters; Correction Period Opens"

Salem district witnessed a significant event as the Draft Voter List, consisting of 28,92,609 voters, was officially released by District Collector Mr. S. Karmegam, in the presence of recognized political party representatives.
The list covers 11 constituencies in the district, with detailed statistics of male, female, and others in each assembly constituency. Furthermore, forms for Electoral Roll Summary Corrections were made available from October 27, 2023, to December 9, 2023, to allow additions, deletions, and corrections to the voter list. 
The District Election Officer urged the public to take advantage of this opportunity and apply for changes at various registration centers and online platforms. Notably, 85.35 percent of Aadhaar numbers have already been linked with electoral rolls in Salem district, with efforts ongoing to reach 100 percent accuracy by the final voter list publication on January 5, 2024. The event was attended by key officials and recognized political party representatives, underlining the importance of inclusive and accurate voter rolls.
