Saveetha’s Center for Interdisciplinary Translational Research forms foundation for dental specialis

Saveetha Oral Biology, is a center for Interdisciplinary Translational Research of Saveetha Dental College, Chennai as it forms the foundation of all dental specialties.

Blends fundamental scientific disciplines to meet the challenges of developing new and highly effective ways to manage, cure or prevent diseases and developmental defects. The department runs postgraduate programs which is the first of its kind in India. It houses SDC Vivarium to inspire students on infinite research prospects in  developmental biology . More than 9 representative Phyla of Kingdom Animalia are displayed for better understanding of comparative dental anatomy and Evolutionary Biology - this collection again is First of its kind  in India.

The branches of the speciality include Cell Biology, Oral Microbiome, Immunology & Lymphology, Sensory Neuroscience & Pain mechanisms, Bone Biology, Craniofacial Development & Ontogenesis, Salivary exosomes, Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering. Biological dentistry, veterinary dental science and dental sculpting.Additionally the department features a cool green environment  with hydro phonics. It houses tooth and animal tissue repository which are key to research.
