With schools set to reopen the schools in the urban and rural areas are being cleaned and beautified.
The drive is based on the Chief Secretary's advisory that a clean and pleasing environs are conducive for children to learn well. With this perspective the district administrations should ensure that the schools are cleaned well and beautified before reopening.In Salem the work has started in 1771 government schools including, 1110 primary schools, 336 middle schools, 136 high schools, 159 higher secondary schools.
It is also being undertaken in 123 government aided schools and 504 self-financed schools.
According to an official release from the District Administration, the class rooms, water tanks, toilets, school campus and hostels cleaned and sanitized. Water tanks would be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Damages in class room buildings will be repaired and the black boards will be recoated or cleaned.
The works will be carried out to give a new look to the class room and the school. Action will be taken continuously to ensure the schools have the up to
