SIMATS students visit field for Problem Identification exercise

SIMATS School of Engineering (SSE) organised a field trip to Arun Plasto Industries and Mappedu village in Chennai as part of the Institution Innovation Council calendar activities.  As an engineering graduate, the purpose of the visit was to analyse and learn about industrial and environmental problems in the field of engineering.

Students attempted to identify several manufacturing challenges that may have converged that could potentially impair several aspects of the plastics industry in addition to the pandemic upheaval as part of an ideation and solution giving activity. Students also conducted surveys and raised awareness among the villagers about existing technical issues such as drainage, electricity usage, and the use of renewable energy sources.
