Sports hostel student bags gold in national football event

Erode government girls hostel student Ranjani studying 12th standard in the  government Girls Higher Secondary School at Veerappan Chathram bagged gold medal in the national level football competition  organized under the union government's Khelo India sports development scheme in Haryana from June 4 to13. She represented Tamil Nadu team under the  age of 18 years of age.

As the Tamilnadu team bagged I prize in the event, all 18 players of TN team including Ranjani,  got gold medals. All players would get around Rs 2.50 to  3 lakh cash reward from the state government. Her father is a casual labour of Coimbatore district, said her hostel Football coach B Sathya  who appreciated her talent and contribution to the victory of Tamil Nadu team in the national level competition.
She was staying in the hostel for the past 4 years.
