State will support Centre if it declares total prohibition: Minister Muthuswamy

State government will support the Central government if it enacts a law to close liquor shops nationwide. Then the state will close liquor shops. The state government is continuously taking efforts in this regard, Minister for Prohibition and Housing S Muthuswamy said .

He inaugurated the work of disposing of water weeds in the Surampatti dam area in Erode today through the Erodai NGO.
At that time said: The Tamil Nadu government is committed to the policy of closing liquor shops gradually. Immediate closure of liquor shops will cause many problems. Already 600 liquor shops have been closed in this regime.

We have studied and prepared a list of how many new shops need to be closed. The evils of alcohol are explained to the youth who come to drink.
Around 5000 houses built by the Housing Board are not sold in various areas including Chennai.
This situation is due to the problem of low quality and high cost of buildings.

They were built during the last AIADMK era. But now houses are built based on demand. For this a survey is taken in advance. Sufficient water is released in the Kilbavani irrigation canal. Strict action will be taken against those who steal water, he said.
