In a quarterly meeting on Aavin's products and services with consumers' organisations at the Coimbatore District Collector's office, the resolutions were passed to improve hygiene and availability of products through adequate number of booths covering key areas.
According to the resolutions, hygienic norms should be adopted at Aavin booths and be shifted away from drainages .
The Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Limited (Aavin) should ensure hygienic and premium milk and dairy products to its consumers. Hence licence to sell Aavin products must be given to those who have a proper hygiene and spacious depot/ booth facilities. More proper- neat booths to have a dignified living for vendors and sales persons.
As the license has been issued to act as a dealer of Aavin products exclusively selling products of other brands must be prohibited. Availability of buttermilk, butter and milk kova in the booths should be ensured. Aavin products in the Coimbatore Railway station should be available through a booth there. Booths should also be set up near Gandhipuram Mufsil bus stand, Singanallur, North Coimbatore, Vadavalli, Sundarapuram, Sulur bus stand and other crowded areas. Suggestions were made for increasing the milk production at village level which will provide livelihood opportunities at village, self-help groups/ ex- servicemen besides more procurement of milk and supply to Aavin.C.M. The organisation thanked Dr.Sameeran, District Collector and Mr.P.Ramanathan, General Manager of Aavin, Coimbatore for their immediate attention in holding the quarterly meeting of Aavin with the Consumer organisations.
