Student honoured for Silambam skills

C. Visalini, a second-year undergraduate student of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, has been conferred a 'Doctorate in Record Breaking' (honoris causa-non-academic) by Universal Tamil University.  
The award was presented to her at a function held in Madurai on November 25 for her skills in Silambam. 
The Universal Achievers Book of Records has also recognised Ms. Visalini as the first woman Silambam artiste to continuously perform different forms of Por Silambam for one hour and fifteen minutes, creating a new 'world record.'
