Tamil Nadu secures 5th place in National-level sports competition

Tamil Nadu has secured the fifth place by bagging 75 medals including 25 gold medals in the National-level sports competition that took place in Gujarat.In competition that took place in six districts including Ahmedabad and Rajkot from September 27, over 8,000 players from about 32 teams including state and union territory teams participated. 

On the last day, the final volleyball match for boys took place between Kerala and Tamil Nadu teams and the Tamil Nadu team had secured silver medal in the match, while Haryana secured bronze medal in the match.
Overall, Tamil Nadu has managed to bag 74 medals including 25 gold, 22 silver and 27 bronze medals and secured the fifth place. Players from the state had participated in more than 20 competitions including swimming and yoga. More medals – seven gold, six silver and five bronze medals - were bagged in the athletics category.

In swimming, the players have won one gold, six silver and three bronze medals.Players from Services sports control board have bagged the first place in the competition by securing a total of 128 medals - 61 gold, 35 silver and 32 bronze -, while Maharashtra came second by securing 140 medals – 39 gold, 38 silver and 63 bronze -, Haryana came third by securing 116 medals.
