Temples closed during Lunar Eclipse

Temples in Erode district were closed yesterday evening due to the lunar eclipse. Erode Fort Iswaran and Perumal temples were closed as usual around 12 noon. 

Later in the evening due to the lunar eclipse, the darshan of the devotees was prohibited. Also, a notice board has been placed in front of the temple stating that the lunar eclipse will occur between 5.38 pm and 6.19 pm, so that devotees are not allowed to have darshan. 

After that at 7.30 pm, the temples were opened and special poojas were performed. Similarly, Mahimaleswarar, Erode Peria Mariamman and Thindal Murugan temples, were closed.
