The name Bharat reflects ancient culture of our country: BJP MLA

There is nothing wrong to change the name of the country from India to Bharat. Bharat will reflect the ancient history and culture of our country, said Modakurichi BJP MLA Dr CK Saraswathi.

 She said: The name India was coined by the British. The name India comes from the Indus Valley Civilization. But even before that our history, mythology and ancient culture called this country as Bharat. We call Bharat Mataki Jai. Famous poets including Bharatiyar call it Bharat. Bharat is mentioned in the Constitution itself. So, there is no mistake in calling India as Bharat. Already there are many names like Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Bharat Electronics Corporation. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi too held yathra in the name of Bharat Jodo Yatra. So, opposition parties including Congress will not oppose this name change. It is like changing the name of Madras as Chennai by late CM Karunanidhi. As the opposition parties claim, the BJP is not afraid of the name India Alliance. So, this name change is not done. The people who made the Constitution mentioned Bharat. That is what the BJP is using the name now. India is not the name of the alliance. That is I. N. D. I. A. Whether the alliance will intact until the parliamentary election is a question mark. In Kerala, Communists and Congress are on opposite sides. In many states like West Bengal, Punjab, Delhi, there is no unity in the opposition coalition. So it is not acceptable that the BJP changed the name because of fear of their INDIA alliance. A special session of Parliament is scheduled to take place from Sept 18th. Then the opposing parties can express their opinion about Bharat. But no party will oppose the name. The strength of alliance is its principles. BJP has given a corruption-free regime for the past ten years which has boosted the economic development of the country. But India alliance is trying to hide it. Sanatana is a way of life. It does not emphasize caste-religious, human differences. Sanatnam is the principle that insists on how man should live by following Dharma. But they misunderstand this and talk to cover up their mistakes for political gain.Not only in Tamil Nadu but all over India, Muslims, Christians and Hindus are treating each other like brothers. But, those who are speaking against Sanatanam create division among the people. They are sowing hate politics. The BJP emphasizes the unity of the people and the unity of the nation. BJP alliance will win in the parliamentary elections, she added.
