Thennarasu files nomination

AIADMK candidate KS Thennarasu, who won from Erode as MLA twice in 2001 and 2016,  filed his nomination with the Erode East bypoll election officer and Erode Corporation Commissioner Sivakumar  at the Corporation office on Tuesday. 

Party Erode maanagar district secretary KV Ramalingam, functionaries R Manoharan, Paavai Arunachalam and TMC youth wing state president M Yuvaraj accompanied him.  Thennarasu's wife   Padmini filed nomination as alternate candidate for him. 

Earlier, large number of party functionaries assembled in the party election depot at Perundurai Road near GH. As police  denied permission to hold a rally to any party during filing of nomination, many cadres of ADMK did not come to the Corporation office. However, heavy police security was posted in front of the office.  Till yesterday, 59 filed nominations. Today, along with Thennarasu, a few independents filed their papers. Due to the election process, heavy traffic congestion was existed in the town for many hours.
