Tirupur Collector distributes nutrition kits

On the occasion of the World Breastfeeding Week, District Collector Mr. Tha.Kristharaj distributed nutrition kits to pregnant women at the Collectorate on behalf of Social Welfare and Women's Rights Department, under the ICDS Program and issued certificates. 
He said World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year in the first week of August. The theme for this year is "Bridging the Gap Let's Support Breastfeeding". 
In connection with the program, about two litres of breast milk donation was collected from 40 mothers with the help of Rotary Avinasi East Organization and integrated lactation management located in Tirupur District Medical College campus. 25 mothers were given certificates on behalf of Children's Charitable Trust, Nutritional Food Bank and Rotary Avinasi East organization as a way of encouraging mothers who donated milk. 
On this occasion, District Program Officer (Integrated Child Development Programme) (P) Mrs. Mahalakshmi Sangeeta, Child Development Program Officers Ms. Aparajitha, Ms. Saraswathi, Ms. Selamia, Program Head (Rotary Avinasi East) Ms. Vichitra Senthilkumar, District Coordinator (Children Charitable Trust) Mr. Senthilkumar and Anganwadi workers were present.
