Tiruvannamalai District Collector D Bhaskara Pandian led a district-level weekly review meeting on drug eradication, counterfeit liquor, sale of fake liquor and law and order with the officials yesterday at the district collector's office.
In this meeting, the District Collector examined the report on the details of banned drugs including Illicit liquor, Ganja, Tobacco, Panmasala and Coolip seized by the Police and Food Safety Department throughout the Tiruvannamalai district during the last one week.
He asked the officials to visit the shops near the school campuses to check selling of banned drugs and directed them to carry out awareness on the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse.
He asked them to prevent the sale of drugs including tobacco, cigarettes, ganja, coolip in the shops near the school campuses.
Further, he asked the local councilors to analyze the long pending petitions related to the land partition issues and court cases received by them village wise and pay special attention on them and resolve them.
