The BIRAC-supported E-YUVA Centre of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), in collaboration with COXBIT, a Section 8 company of TNAU, organized a one-day entrepreneurship workshop titled "Deep Dive into Business Model Canvas" on March 29.
The workshop aimed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge to transform their business ideas into viable models. Mr. Dinesh Kumar Sundaravelu, Vice President of StartupTN, Government of Tamil Nadu, provided insights into the Business Model Canvas, guiding students through its key elements. Twenty students from TNAU’s main campus and affiliated colleges participated, applying their learnings to develop business models and pitch their product ideas. Among the innovative concepts presented were ‘Biogold’, a seed coating agent; ‘Everbloom’, a dry flower bouquet; and ‘Nutribites’, a traditional rice flour-based confectionery.
The inaugural session featured Dr. E Kokila Devi, Professor and Head, Department of Plant Biotechnology, who welcomed the participants. Dr. S Mohankumar, Senior Professor, Department of Plant Biotechnology, delivered the keynote address, inspiring students to embrace entrepreneurship by citing successful ventures such as Naturals, Keeraikadai.com, and Tea Boy Franchise Model.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. L Arul, Professor and Head, Department of Plant Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics. The workshop served as a platform to nurture innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among students.
