TNEDAOA stages demo for non payment of 2 months salary

TN Education Department Administrative Officials Association (TNEDAOA) staged a demonstration in front of the office of the Erode Chief Education Office on Wednesday, seeking 2 months (Oct and Nov) pending wage arrears for over 3500 ministerial staff working in the department in the state.

Heading the stir, the union state secretary S Vijaya Manoharan  said that following many representations, the present rule cancelled GO 101 recently for various flaws in it.  But, after that, it created much confusion in the Administration by transferring ministerial staff to various schools after holding counselling for transfers. Already, during the previous AIADMK rule, a software was created by Wipro in the name of administrative reforms under which the ministerial posts for schools and offices were fixed.

But, now, the staff were transferred to some places where there were no posts. So, now, the staff who were posted in schools and offices where there were no posts faced problem in getting wages.  Due to that problem alone the teachers in aided schools did not get wages in time.  Only after their stir, they got wages belatedly this month, he noted. So, the software should be amended to remove this kind of problems, he pleaded.
Above all, lot of confusion was created by present rule in the school administration also. The previous rule created 1 DEO (District Education Officers).

post for 2 or 3 blocks as against 2 DEOs (Gobi and Erode divisions) and removed DEO (elementary education) post. So, 5 DEOs functioned in the district were looking all kind of schools in their blicks.
But, during the present rule, 1 DEO each was posted for secondary education (6th to 12th std) in government and private schools and elementary education for the entire district.

It is difficult for each DEO to inspect all schools, assaigned to them,  from Thalavadi to Kodumudi in the entire district having hundreds of schools.  The new system would also hit the promotional opportunity of teachers who already opposed appointment of IAS Officer as commissioner in education department, which snatched their promotional opportunity, he noted.
