A 55-years-old person from Kannangurichi, Salem District tumbled into a 60 feet ditch along the on Thursday morning leaving him with multiple
injuries.
The mishap unfolded as the visitor, whose identity has not been disclosed yet, was navigating the picturesque roads of Yercaud. Near the 60-foot embankment, he attempted to bring his two-wheeler to a stop, but instead, it veered off the road, causing him to plummet into the deep ditch below.
Startled witnesses at the scene immediately responded to his cries for help. They quickly contacted a local resident Selvar Bolas and alerted the 108 ambulance service. Recognizing the severity of the situation, Yercaud's police and fire rescue teams were dispatched to the accident location.
In a swift and coordinated effort, the rescue teams successfully extricated the injured tourist from the 60-foot ditch. After securing him, he was promptly transported to the Salem Government Hospital for medical treatment.
The victim sustained multiple injuries in the fall, including a fractured leg and severe head and back injuries. The medical staff at Salem Government Hospital is working diligently to provide him with the necessary care and medical attention.
In response to this distressing incident, the Yercaud police department has initiated an official investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
