Department of Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Women’s Studies Centre and School of Allied and Healthcare Sciences of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Womenorganized a Three-Day Online Training Programme on Child Centric Disaster Risk Reduction from 27th February to 1st March 2023 (1.30pm-3.30 pm) in collaboration with Child Centric Disaster Risk Reduction (CCDRR, Chennai) - National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM, Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi) .
The inauguration of the 3 day online training programme on Child Centric Disaster Risk Reduction (CCDRR) began with the Prayer Song, followed by Welcome Address delivered by Dr. K. Narendiran, Director, Allied Health Sciences, Avinashilingam Institute.
The Inaugural Address was delivered by Prof. S.P. Thyagarajan, Chancellor, Avinashilingam Institute in which he highlighted the need for having a properly trained workforce for Disaster Risk Reduction and the importance of community participation in Child Centric Disaster Risk Reduction and Dr. V. Bharathi Harishankar, Vice Chancellor, Avinashilingam Institute greeted the participants. Followed by which, Dr. I. Balu, CCDRR, NIDM briefed about the program and the inaugural session was concluded by Dr.R.Nithya, Associate Professor, Civil Engineering, Avinashilingam Institute delivered the Vote of Thanks.
