Unique Identity Cards given to Differently abled persons at special screening camp

In an initiative aimed at enhancing accessibility and recognition for differently-abled individuals, a camp held at the Government Higher Secondary School in Yercaud witnessed a substantial turnout.
Led by the District Disabled Welfare Officer, Mr. Mahizhnan, the event facilitated the application process for the government’s unique identity card for the differently-abled.
The camp organised by Mr.  Silambarasan, Yercaud's Mahalir Thittam (Women Program) Coordinator, attracted over a hundred participants from the region.
Among them, 60 individuals were issued new identity cards, while existing cardholders received updated versions.
Applicants from remote Yercaud hill villages seized the opportunity to apply for these crucial identity cards.
Mr. Mahizhnan reviewed the applications during the camp, ensuring the necessary documentation for the issuance of identity cards.
Assuring a swift process, officials confirmed that all applicants from the camp will receive their identity cards within a few days which would empower the differently abled persons.
