New Century Book House (NCBH) organized a book release function of PK Ponnusamy's book-Padaipulagam- at Erode Book Festival, on Thursday.
In his speech, he said ''I have succeeded in trying to combine science and literature.
But the struggle for 35 years to make this opportunity available to all has not yet succeeded. The writers works can attract the readers if it records the current events. Writers should save their ideas and bring it to the people through their writings.
Those works should inspire people to read, he added. Amudhasurabi Editor Tirupur Krishnan, who received the book, said '' reading ancient Sangam literatures will increase one's vocabulary. Formal education is essential for writers.
Prizes and awards are only recognition for creators.'' Professor K. Chellappan presided over the event. NCBH General Manager Rathnasabapathy welcomed. Former Vice-Chancellor of Periyar University B.Kulanthaivel and Makkal Sindhanai Peravai president T.Stalin Gunasekaran spoke.
