Walkathon for Liver disease awareness held in Chennai

Gleneagles Global Health City in association with Hindustan Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, conducted the World Liver Day Marathon on Sunday.
Mr. Sathish, an accomplished actor and comedian, was the chief guest and he flagged off the walkathon from NIOT Pallikaranai which culminated at Pallikaranai police station, covering a distance of over 4km.
Doctors and staff from Gleneagles Global Health City and Hundreds of students and professors from the Hindustan Institute of Science and Technology took part in the walkathon to create awareness about liver diseases. 
Participants hold banners and placards with information about the causes, symptoms, and prevention of liver diseases. “After the brain, the liver is the second largest and second-most complicated organ in the body andif proper precautions are not taken, the liver can easily get damaged. 
The walkathon is intended to raise awareness of liver infections among participants and the general public and to encourageregular check-ups to identify any underlying diseases”, said Dr. Alok Khullar, CEO, Gleneagles Global Health City.
