'Wellbeing out of waste' programme held

Department of Corporate Secretaryship with CA and Professional Accounting of Kongu Arts and Science College has executed the Best Practice Wellbeing Out of Waste (WOW) an extension activity in association with ITC Ltd., Coimbatore on 22nd April 2022 for the students and faculty members of various departments. Correspondent  K.Palanisamy and Principal Dr.N.Raman inaugurated the function.

 The main aim of this activity is to transform the attitude of students towards recycling garbage and making them socially responsible citizen. ITC-WOW Co-ordinator Shanmuga Sundaram, said that the dry waste collected from the college will be sorted into Magazines, Books, Newspapers and Card Boards and sent to dry resource collection centre for recycling purpose to convert as office papers, cardboards, boxes, tissue papers and so on. 

As a part of academic activity the students should know the importance of protecting the environment and take necessary steps to conserve the natural resources. Around 384 students participated and contributed towards the benefit of environment by exchanging old news papers and note books with new stationery. 

Students and faculty members exchanged 3,060 kg of used note books and news papers. Head of the Department Dr.K.K.A.Alaguappan and Dr.G.Gomathi Assistant professor organized and coordinated the function along with the department faculty members.
