Thirty eight year old, Ms. M. Kalpana from Ramanathpuram village, Thiruvallur (Kattupalli) has mobilized almost 300 farmers to adopt organic farming. She has attended training and capacity building programmes on sustainable agricultural practices and keeps herself updated on women’s farmer rights and entitlements.

“With the help of the Adani Foundation and their their training sessions, I was able to understand the organic farming processes. In my first season, I earned Rs 23,000 just by growing organic rice since the rate for organic products is higher and I also saved money by using natural fertilizers due to my training.
I am happy that my journey has inspired other women from my village to also take up farming and they are inspired by me,” M. Kalpana adds. Currently, the Adani Foundation is working with over 17,000 farmers covering more than 25,000 acres of farmland in India.
