World Coconut Day celebrated

Coconut Development Board (Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India), Centre of Excellence for Coconut, DSP Farm, Dhali has successfully conducted 15th World Coconut Day to highlight the prime theme of sustaining coconut sector for present and future generation for the benefit of the coconut farmers belonging to Tirupur and Coimbatore District in Tamil Nadu.  

Shri G. Ragothuman, Farm Manager welcomed the gathering.  

 Shri K. Shanmugasundaram, MP, Pollachi constituency delivered the inaugural address.  

Dr. K. Rajamanickam, Adjunct Professor (Coconut), DoDL, TNAU, Coimbatore and CDB Member (Research & Development) highlighted the global scenario of coconut cultivation. 

Shri M. Mariappan, JDA of Tirupur District highlighted the schemes functioning on coconut cultivation for the benefit of the coconut farmers in Tirupur district.  

Shri V. Udhayakumar, Chairman, Dhali Panchayat proposed a vote of thanks.
