Yercaud Summer Festival and Flower Show to be held from May 21 to 28

The 46th Summer Festival and Flower Show will be held in Yercaud from May 21 to 28, 2024.
According to Salem District Collector S.Karmegam, the festival will begin on May 21 with an inaugural function in the presence of K.N Nehru, Minister for Municipal Administration, M.R.K Paneerselvam, Minister for Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare, K.Ramachandran, Minister for Tourism, and Dr.M.Madhivendhan, Minister for Forests and Environment.
At the Anna Park, the Flower Show will exhibit attractive floral decorations in various shapes and styles, such as the Ponniyin Selvan Ship, Dragon Warrior, Chotta Bheem, and Honey Bheem. 
These flower creations employ up to 5 lakh blooms, including rare types such as zerbera, coronation, anthurium, and orchid. 
A gallery show of 10,000 flower pots of various varieties such as delias, zenias, marigold, torinium, salvia, and so on is being arranged.
An important sidelight during the flower show will be a fruit show showcasing hill grown fruit varietals.
An exhibition of schemes and projects implemented by several government ministries is also planned.
Several amusments, culturals and sporting events and contests are being arranged on all the 8 days of the festival. These include hill trek, handball match between locals and tourists, rope pulling competition, boat race, cricket match, healthy baby contest, tradtional food cookery contest, kolam art competition, dog show, music, drama and film screening. Special buses are being arranged from Salem to Yercaud and also for sightseeing within Yercaud.
