Youth ends his life after losing lakhs in online gambling games

A youth ended his life by suicide after losing about 
Rs 15 lakh in online gambling games near Arur in the district. 

The deceased is identified as Prabhu, a resident of Muthanoor near Arur, who was working at a private company. 

According to sources, the deceased had been playing an online gambling game for the past few months. He, who had invested a small amount initially, started to invest more money after seeing a few victories. He had even invested the advance amount that he got for selling his house in the game. 

He seems to have lost Rs 15 lakh in the online gambling game and close to Rs 3 lakh in lottery tickets, the source said, adding that the deceased was found depressed for the past few days. He ended his life by suicide without being able to bear the loss. 

Of late, the number of people who end their life after losing money in online gambling games have increased significantly. Recently, a police personnel attacked with armed reserve force ended his life for the same reason.
