Mega Youth Conference (Yuva India 2022) to be jointly organized by Coimbatore District Administration, City Police, Rotary TexCity will be held at Hindustan College from Nov 16 to 18 to create awareness among the public about drug awareness, road safety and various employment opportunities, said district collector Dr. G. S. Sameeran in a press meet held at the district collector's office.
In the meet, City Police Commissioner Mr. V. Balakrishnan, Yuva India Chairman Dr. K. A. Kuriachan, President C.R. Vijay, Secretary Dr. Nanjan Balu were present. Collector and Commissioner presented the brochure on Yuva India-2022 programme. Collector said in this event, 1000 school children and 9000 youth from colleges are going to participate. Also, motivational speakers from various departments and high officials are going to attend.
To motivate the youth, they are going to provide guidance on employment under the Nan Mudalvan scheme. Adequate security arrangements will be made by the police for this event. Also, short film making competitions on drug prevention were conducted. 182 short films have been received.
The best 10 short film will be aired in the event and the best 5 short films directors will be given an opportunity to interact with the film director Lokesh Kanagaraj and one will be given an opportunity to work as an assistant director in Lokesh Kanagaraj's next film. Guidance will be given regarding placements in uniform services like Army, Air Force, Navy etc.
A review meeting of the District Monitoring Officer has been conducted regarding the precautionary measures on NE monsoon.
