Tiruvannamalai Collector organises awareness campaign on voting

The District Electoral Officer and District Collector, T Bhaskara Pandian, led an awareness rally with school students advocating for 100 percent voting. The event took place near the Thiruvannamalai Periyar statue.
In preparation for the Parliamentary General Election 2024, various departments, including the School Education Department, have been conducting awareness programs to promote maximum voter participation.
The rally commenced from the Periyar statue, passing through landmarks such as the Gandhi statue and Rajagopuram, before concluding near the Periyar statue. 
Approximately 500 students from Municipal Girls High School, 200 students from Danish Mission High School, 50 students from Tyagi Annamalai Government High School, 200 students from VDS High School, and 100 students from Mount Joseph Matric High School actively participated in spreading awareness through hand banners displaying slogans.
The District Electoral Officer and District Collector distributed leaflets with awareness slogans to the general public at various public locations, including homes, grocery stores, butcher shops, restaurants, and barber shops, to further promote awareness about the elections and the importance of voting.
The event saw the participation of Additional Collector (Development) SA Rishab, District Principal Education Officer Ganesh Murthy, government officials, and school students.
