Tamilnadu Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyamozhi released the results of the Plus 2 and class 10 general examinations at the Anna Centenary Meeting Hall in Chennai today.
Speaking to reporters, Minister Anbin Mahesh said, '7.55 (93%) lakh students have cleared the Class 12 general examination. This includes 4.27 lakh girls and 3.94 lakh boys. 5.36% more female students have passed than male students.
The supplementary exams for Class 12 students will be held on July 27. From the 24th onwards, provisional marks certificates can be downloaded from the website.
Perambalur (97.95%) district in Tamil Nadu has the highest pass rate in Class 12 general examination. It is followed by Virudhunagar (97.27%) and Ramanathapuram (97.02%). Vellore district has the lowest pass percentage with 86.69% pass rate.
9,12,620 have written the class 10 general examination. 90.07% of them have passed. In total 8,21,994 students have passed 10th class who include 4,52,499 girls and 4,60,120 boys and one from the 3rd gender.
Percentage wise 85.8% of male students and 94.38% of female students have passed. The by-examination for class 10 will begin on August 2. Kumari district has topped the list with 97.22% pass percentage in 10th class. Vellore district came last with only 79.87% pass rate. 85.25% of government school students have passed the 10th class examination, 'he said.
