1340 MT of urea, 320 MT of DAP and 320 MT of Complex Fertilizers arrived to Erode by train from Thoothukudi port and Chennai, said C. Chinnaswamy, Joint Director of Agriculture.
He said the maximum selling price and stock details of the fertilizer should be displayed in front of the fertilizer shops. Farmers signature should be obtained in the sales receipt and traders should ensure that fertilizers are available only in approved locations and sell it through point of sales machines.
The farmers can inform the Regional Assistant Directors of Agriculture in case of any deficiencies and are forced to buy other products by traders. Strict action will be taken as per the Fertilizer Control Order 1985 for violating the norms in fertilizer outlets.
Now, Erode district has a stock of 3295 MT of urea, 2489 MT of DAP, 1338 MT of potash, 5933 MT of complex, 976 MT of superphosphate in agricultural co-operative societies and private fertilizer sales outlets.
