14th National Voter's Day Pledge at Erode

Voter's Day Pledge program was held at the Erode Collector Office on Thursday under the theme 'I will vote, I will definitely vote' while observing 14th National Voters Day. 
The event was presided over by Erode State Joint Commissioner of Taxes and Monitoring Officer Lashmi Baviya Nyetu under the leadership of District Returning Officer and Collector Raja Gopal Sunkara. Officers and employees of all departments took the oath.  Various awareness activities are being carried out so that all the voters know about the necessity of voting. 
As the Lok Sabha polls are going to be held soon, all the voters should do their democratic duty by voting regularly. Collector Rajagopal Sunkara said that Erode District has received an award for the work of correcting the voter list with photographs and details on behalf of the Election Commission and improving the list.
Voters ID cards were given to young voters and young voters, senior voters, marginalized voters, differently abled voters, third gender voters and those selected as district symbols were honored with shawls. 
Cultural programs were held to raise the awareness of school and college students. Certificates were awarded to students who won in the National Voting Day competitions held in schools and colleges. In order to create awareness about voting in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls, mobile poll awareness vehicles were started for all the 8 legislative assembly constituencies in the district.
Assistant District Officer N.Gurunathan, Tahsildars Sivasankar, Jayakumar, Gomati (Young India Association) and many others participated.
