18 people permitted to distribute food on Chitra Purnima day

The district collector P Murugesh granted permission to 18 people to distribute food on Chitra Purnima which falls on May 14 and 15. On the occasion, the number of devotees visiting the temple would be high. Hence, ministers Eva Velu and Sekar Babu had chaired a meeting to review the preparatory works.

 The ministers directed the officials to ensure the safety of the devotees visiting the temples and not to waste food. Subsequently, the district collector gave permission only to four people to distribute in public places and remaining permitted people would be distributed food at their private places. 

The collector has also instructed them to obtain a certificate from the district food safety officer. Food safety officer Ramakrishnan was also present at the meeting.
