239 doctors graduated from CMCH, ESI

Health minister Ma Subramanian on Sunday conferred degrees on 239 doctors during the graduation ceremonies of Coimbatore government medical college hospital and ESI government medical college hospital in the city.
Public health department secretary Senthil Kumar, district collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar, Pollachi MP Eswaraswami, corporation commissioner Sivaguru Prabhakaran, National health mission PD Arun Thamburaj, corporation’s east zone chairman Lakshmi Ilanselvi Karthik, CMCH dean Nirmala, ESI hospital principal Ravindran, assistant collector Prasanth and others attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, the minister said that necessary steps will be taken to improve facilities at the ESI hospital.
Pointing out that doctors are creating achievements in the field of medicine, he said, “Last week, I attended an American medical association’s event that took place for three days. Representatives from various medical associations across the world attended the event. I was surprised to notice that the president of the association is a Tamilian – Viswanathan, and is an alumnus of the Madras Medical College. The three doctors who have discovered a cure for monkeypox at the University of California are from Tamil Nadu.”
Urging young doctors to excel in their fields, he said that more than 22,00 posts in the department of medicine and public health have been filled, and the process of transferring doctors and nurses has been 
simplified.
He invited the graduates to work with the government departments.
