Tamil Nadu Tourism Minister K Ramachandran inaugurated a recruitment drive organised by the Department of Labour Welfare and Skill Development and the Department of Employment and Training at Nilgiris Government Polytechnic College on Friday.
A total of 112 companies and 1,124 candidates participated in the recruitment drive. Out of these, 317 candidates, including 228 men, 86 women, and 3 differently-abled persons, were immediately given their placement orders at the camp. 349 candidates were selected for the second stage of the recruitment process. Nilgiris collector M Aruna also participated in the recruitment drive. Addressing the gathering, Tourism Minister K Ramchandran highlighted the efforts of the Chief Minister in signing several MOUs, leading to an investment of Rs. 8.6 lakh crores and the creation of 30 lakh employment opportunities.
