The four-day annual international sports and cultural fest, Riviera 2025, commenced at VIT Vellore with great enthusiasm. The event began with a 9.9 km marathon from VIT to Karigiri Hospital junction, themed "Run for Health." Over 1,500 men and 1,200 women participated in the marathon, marking an energetic start to the festival.
VIT Vice President Sankar Viswanathan officially declared Riviera 2025 open and flagged off the marathon.
The chief guest for the inaugural ceremony was Padma Shri awardee Anitha Pauldurai, former captain of the Indian Women's Basketball team, who encouraged students to embrace sports and cultural activities.
The festival features an exciting lineup of events, including Tamizhi, Kalaa, Go Karting, and various club activities. Shreya Ghoshal and DJ Paroma will perform in a grand proshow later in the evening, adding to the festive spirit.
With stage performances, food stalls, exhibits, and competitions, Riviera 2025 promises to be a vibrant platform for young talent, celebrating sports, culture, and creativity at VIT
Vellore.
