A 40-year-old female elephant at the foothills of Marudamalai in Coimbatore has been successfully released into the forest following treatment. The elephant was found sick a few days ago, accompanied by her four-month-old male calf.
The forest department's medical team provided continuous treatment, lifting the elephant with the help of a crane to administer care. The treatment included feeding the elephant nutritional tablets crushed with tamarind jaggery in rice porridge to restore her health.
As her condition improved, the female elephant was released back into the forest. The forest department has received widespread appreciation for their efforts in saving the elephant, who was on the verge of death.
