489 petitions received in Jamabandhi at Bhavani

A total of 489 petitions were received in the jamabandhi arranged by the Revenue Department  at the Bhavani Taluk office on Thursday.

District Revenue Officer Santoshini Chandra presided.  Bhavani Tahsildar Muthukrishnan, Social Security Scheme Tahsildar Senthilraj attended.  Of 489 petitions filed by the public from various parts of the Taluk including Bhavani, Kavunthappadi and Kurichi, action was taken on 85 petitions. Officials said the remaining petitions would be duly investigated and action would be taken.

Residents of Bhavani Municipality 7th Ward, led by CPI Secretary PM Balamurugan, submitted a petition seeking permanent patta for the sites given to 160 families in the area who got conditional patta 32 years back ago. The officials offered saplings to all  visitors of the event.
