Around 882 EVMs, including control, vote registration and VVPAT units, have been allocated online for use in 238 polling stations in Erode East bypoll on Saturday where election will be held on February 27. 1,408 electronic voting machines have been kept ready for use in these polling stations.
The allotment of voting machines to be used for vote registration was held at the District Collector's office on Saturday in the presence of District Collector H. Krishnanunni.The allotment was done through the website of the Election Commission in the presence of representatives of political parties.
A total of 882 vote registration machines were allocated. The event was held in the electronic voting machine depository in the Erode RDO office premises. The machines were handed over by the Erode RDO Satishkumar to Erode Corporation Commissioner K. Sivakumar, the Returning Officer of Erode East Constituency. The EVMs were kept safe in the EVM vault in the Corporation office.
