89 demands settled in agri grievance meeting

Farmers Grievance Redressal Day meeting was held in the Nilgiri District Collector's Additional Office under the chairmanship of District Collector S.P.Amrit. Around 89 demands of farmers were discussed and action was taken. 

In this meeting, the District Collector said: Horticulture farms operating under the Department of Horticulture should put up display banners with the details of the plants produced along with the prices. In order to resolve the grievances of the beneficiaries who are not able to get the 13th installment amount among the beneficiaries in Gudalur area, a meeting will be held in the taluk. 

PM's Small Scale Food Processing

A separate meeting would be held to address the demands of the Mudumalai resettled people and farmers, and permission to cut trees in the leased lands in the Nilgiris district can be obtained by applying through online. 

Earlier, through the Department of Agribusiness and Marketing, under the PM's Small Scale Food Processing Enterprises Promotion Programme (PFP), provided loan assistanc Rs.5.70 lakh to a tribal woman Manjula  of Gudalur.  

District Revenue Officer Keerthi Priyadarshini, Joint Director Horticulture Department Shibila Mary, Assistant Directors Samshantha Kumar (panchayats), Ibrahimsha (town  panchayats), and officials belonging to various departments were present.
