90 percent of construction work of Solar Bus Stand completed

Housing and Urban Development Minister S.Muthusamy said that 90 percent of the Erode Solar Bus Stand construction work has been completed.

He inspected the new bus stand being constructed at a cost of Rs 63.50 crore in Erode Solar area. Then he said:

Buses going to Karur, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, Tirunelveli will be operated from the newly constructed bus stand.  The officials have been instructed to complete various basic facilities like two and four wheeler parking spaces at this bus stand, town bus facility from Erode Central Bus Stand, and construction of shopping malls in the stand premises as soon as possible.

Preliminary work is being done to construct another bus station in Kanirautthar Kulam area of ​​Erode in an area of ​​about 13 acres. When these 2 bus stations come into operation, the traffic congestion in Erode town will be greatly reduced. Also, the corporation areas will expand and achieve complete development, he said.

Subsequently, the Minister attended the Pongal function celebrated at the rehabilitation home for elderly persons operating on behalf of Atchayam Foundation in Solar Pudur area.

During the inspection, District Collector Rajagopal Sunkara, M.P. Anthyur Selvaraj, SP G. Jawahar, Corporation Commissioner V. Sivakrishnamurthy, and Chief Engineer Vijayakumar were present.
