A campaign for ‘people’s movement for clean city’ held in the city

 The corporation mayor Kalpana Anandkumar inaugurated the awareness programme for the ‘people’s movement for clean city’ and cleaning works in the city on Saturday. 

The Chief Minister MK Stalin, recently, inaugurated the ‘people’s movement for clean city’ programme. Under which, works are being carried out to clean the cities under the theme ‘my waste, my responsibility’. 

Students from various colleges participated in the programme and removed plastic wastes from Kurichi lake after the mayor inaugurated the programme at Ganapathy, Puliyakulam and areas surrounding Kurichi lake. 

The students also took a pledge to eradicate plastic by using yellow bags. During the event, safety gears were distributed to sanitary workers. 

Deputy mayor Vetriselvan, Deputy commissioner Sharmila, chairman of health committee Mariselvan, assistant commissioner of south zone Kathirvel, south zone chairman Dhanalakshmi and other counsellors participated in the event.
