A Special Officer will be appointed in each constituency to implement electricity schemes, says Se

A special officer in the cadre of chief engineer and executive engineer would be appointed in each constituency to implement electricity schemes, said electricity minister V Senthil Balaji.


Speaking to reporters after holding a review meeting with TNEB officials in Chennai, the minister said, “The special officers would overview and monitor the works that would be carried out in each constituency over the next few years. 


Works worth Rs 2,300 crore are being carried out in this financial year and directions were given to complete the works at the earliest. 


The works are being carried out without any discrimination in all the constituencies after consulting with the MLAs.” 


The DMK government has installed 28,085 transformers across the state in the last one year and works to lay underground cables would be completed at the earliest, he said, adding that the electricity board has completely used the electricity produced from wind and solar energy and this is the first time, such usage was made.
