A student ends his life after losing money in online games

Within 24 hours after an engineer ended his life without being able to bear the loss made in online gambling games, a college student has ended his life for the same reason. The victim was identified as Vinoth Kumar, a third year student of an engineering college in Madurai.

 According to police officials, Vinoth Kumar was interested in playing tennis and was often found playing tennis on his mobile phone. He was said to have lost close to Rs 50,000 in the online game. On Thursday, he remained at his hostel room without attending classes. During the break hours, his friends had come in search of the victim to his room only to find him hanging from the ceiling fan.

The college management immediately alerted police officials who in turn rushed to the spot and recovered the body. It was sent to the government hospital for autopsy. Police have registered a case and are further investigating the issue.This is the second such incident in the last 24 hours. On Wednesday, Sankar, an engineer from Coimbatore, had ended his life for the same reason.
