Marking Maha Shivaratri, devotees distributed special abhishekam kits to neglected Shivalingas located in open fields across Chengalpattu district.
The initiative was organised by the Temple Worship Committee under the guidance of Kanchi Math, Guru Kadaksha Trust and Shivalaya Thirutondu Iyyakam. Each kit comprised items required for four-time abhishekam, the 25th edition of the Thiruvasakam book and vastras for Swami and Ambal.
The programme was presided over by Hindu Munnani District Deputy Chairman C.R. Raja. Kabilan, Ramesh, Srinivasana Shanmugam and Prakash were present.
Executive Officer So. Senthil Kumar, Vishwa Nathan of Sankara Group, Pammal, organiser of the Thiru Kovil Worship Group, Chromepet Kannan, Aavin Chandrasekhar of Sengai Shivanadiyar Thiru Koottam and Astrologer Chandrasekhar of Radhe Krishna Bhajan Mandali participated as special guests and presented the abhishekam boxes to devotees.
