Action sought on adulteration in sago

 Following many complaints from ryots  regarding adulteration in sago which hit sales of sago in north India,    District Revenue Officer Santoshni Chandra said that appropriate action will be taken by the officials of the Food Safety Department on the complaint. 

At the monthly farmers' grievance redressal meeting, held at the Collector's office on Friday, she said officials of the Food Safety Department will investigate the complaint. On other grievances, she said the workers are hired only as per the law of the MGNREGS. The feedback of the farmers demanding a change in the Act will be sent to the government. 

Permanent solution would be found on stagnation of rain water in Kodumudi railway station and breakages in Pugaluran canal. In any new housing lay out, roads should be laid and 10% of the total land  be reserved for public use.  Then only, DTCP approval will be given. Otherwise, the layout is illegal. Action will be taken if other people have bought the land of the hill people. Once Andhiyur Periya lake fills up, the water will flow to Anna Maduvu lake.  Action will be taken in ten days on the encroachment of water channel there.  Farmers will get compensation for construction of HT Towers on their lands by Powergrid Corporation. On Monday, a meeting of the authorities of it will be held. 

The vacant land tax in local bodies is determined by the elected representatives of the people.  If there is anomaly, people can represent. Granting of patta in the lands classified as Ryotwari and Sarkar land divisions has been suspended. However, if the public submit petitions in this regard, the RDOs should consider them and pattas would be given once GO is received, she added.
