Actionable judgment in sexual assault case!

Actionable judgment in sexual assault case!

Crimes against women are increasing day by day worldwide. The increase in crimes against girls has become a matter of concern. Every day, criminals are arrested by the police in connection with sexual violence against girls and women. Severe punishments are given under the POCSO Act.

Nowadays, the punishments for rape offenders are 10 to 20 years in prison. However, crimes have not decreased. Flipping through the newspaper, there are at least one or two stories of sexual violence against girls and women.
A recent verdict in an incident last year has become the talk of the town. In other words, a 3-year-old girl from Jansath  Town in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh was abducted by 2 miscreants in their two-wheeler in July 2022. The girl was taken to a forest area and sexually assaulted.

They also beat and tortured the child. The girl fainted and died. What could be a worse crime than this?
Police arrested Soni alias Surender and Rajesh in this case. The verdict in this case is now out. POCSO court judge Baburam has given a death sentence to one of the accused, Soni, who killed the girl, and life imprisonment to another accused, Rajesh.

The public is commenting that the death penalty is a judgment and a punishment that teaches a lesson to others. There is a growing demand for tougher punishments to prevent such tragedies from happening to girls. The role of parents is also very important to prevent such crimes. Girls should be brought up safely by parents, just like an eyelid. Adolescent girls should be vigilant and seek police assistance if necessary to protect themselves.

No one disagrees that sexual violence should not happen or should be reduced. What is the way? It can only be done through actionable judgments that instill fear, such as the death penalty and long prison terms. Judgments should be delivered without delay. Let the actionable verdicts of the courts continue & let the crimes of sexual violence decrease!
