Actor Sivakumar inspires SKP Engineering students with his speech

Veteran actor Sivakumar delivered an inspiring speech at Thirukkural Kathayum Urayum, an event hosted by SKP Engineering College, where he linked Thirukkural verses to real-life experiences of great leaders.
The event was presided over by K Karunanidhi, Chairman of SKP Educational Group, who honored Sivakumar with a memento. In return, the actor presented his hand-drawn painting of the Annamalaiyar Temple, along with a collection of his artworks, to the institution.
During his keynote address, Sivakumar shared insights into his paintings, which featured iconic temples such as Thanjavur Periya Temple, Madurai Meenakshi Temple, and Srirangam Temple, along with portraits of Gandhi, Periyar, Kamaraj, Dr. Radhakrishnan, and actress Padmini. He connected each Thirukkural to real-life incidents, highlighting the simplicity and values of leaders like Kamaraj and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
A particularly moving moment was when he recounted the story of a student selling beads, who, despite receiving a cash prize, urged help for classmates struggling with torn uniforms. Sivakumar emphasised the importance of compassion, discipline, and simplicity in life.
He also advised students on health and well-being, stressing the significance of clean air, proper hydration, timely meals, and adequate sleep.
The event was attended by educators, students, parents, and notable city figures, with Dr. Baskaran, Principal of SKP Engineering College, delivering the vote of thanks.
